The unofficial and bootleg Vinyl game was always wierd to me. You've got legitimate stores selling "unofficial" copies of album by artists like Kendrick, Mac Miller, Frank Ocean etc. with seemingly no repercussions.

I still get 320kbps albums, however, I pay for the streaming services to be able to download from them instead of from bootleg accounts that will get canceled over too many users using the same account. A pittance to pay over wasting a bunch of time looking for a random zip file.

YouTube to WAV.

When those music files get sent to aggregators (Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc.) they also send a copy to YouTube. That’s the best free option.

Add the artist’s name and the word “topic” in the YouTube search and you’ll get the whole discography.
man dont tell him to get WAV :childplease: what if hes on a data plan you gonna fukk him up

google youtube to mp3 and find one you like. if you have a computer there are more elegant solutions

i like to get flacs on soulseek and burn them onto HQ cd-rs. i got a big booklet of them. i use them in the car sometimes, its fun to listen to an album all the way through (or even skip around). we dont get that experience much these days... most music isnt even made to be good enough to fill up an album.

thats why i got my mobb deep in 24bit 96khz flac:blessed:

i miss those old CD-Rs you could buy that look like colored vinyl records

ideally you should just get FLACs of stuff you like. keep it on a large HDD and transcode it later

FLAC direct to CD-R is just as good as if you bought it at the store. bit perfect :blessed:

Where do you even go to pirate songs anymore? And where do you even put then to listen to them?

Why would I want to go back to the days of downloading a song, hooking my mp3 to the computer and dragging and dropping songs when I can just go to a streaming service or YouTube and listen? Just seems like some nostalgia bait.
You can keep mp3 wave any music format in a computer , even a credit card sized computer, make it a server and have your own streaming service. :win: any old laptop you have laying around , or a raspberry pi (they run very low power) with a few tweaks you can access it in your home network and anywhere on the web. I got all my :ahh: unreleased joints that ain't on any streaming service. People had to wait years to stream death row greatest hits been had that. Ya feel me. It's limitless. I got like 10 terabytes between, music, movies, series, concerts etc etc etc no commercials unless I chose them like them GTA radio station commercials or album skits. Just internet Access. Once I find another satellite internet provider other than starlink I'll even be able to connect when I'm in the mountains in my grandma's farm.

I knew this by the amount of underground rappers making a living off selling cds, cassette tapes, and vinyls on Bandcamp and at their shows.

Bootleg vinyl is crazy though, Griselda really made a market for the record scammers :russ:
I seen a chick on tiktok selling cds. Ultimately if ppl are fans of you they’ll pay for any merchandise of yours. Also I’ve genuinely considered purchasing a separate music player to preserve my phones battery life on train rides, travel, long hikes, etc.

Basically. Taylor Swift out here selling hundreds of thousands of vinyls like it's the 70s:mjlol:

I still have some original CDs and vinyl records that I play at home sometimes.

Nobody's carrying records outside. Piracy never went away lol people always find a way to download things. Streaming services got too greedy and in this bad economy some have to cut costs on things that they can find in free alternatives.

I mean a regular joe who doesn't care much about sound quality, he may be even listening songs on free YouTube with adblock on. I know for a fact that desktop version still works fine with adblock.
