This is why balance is important. I can’t imagine what would happen to me if I listened to rap 24/7 especially the current stuff. I can go days without listening to rap at all. I suggest y’all try it.

I don't think music significantly changes my mood or energy. I will be the same person no matter what. However, I stopped only listening to hip hop years ago. Once I started showing more interest in the beats/samples than the song, it was a slow transition to now having a nice balance of hip hop, jazz and r&b. I mainly listen to mid 90s hip hop, 90s r&b, and 70s-80s jazz-fusion these days.
