Nothing gets done in this country (or anywhere for that matter) unless there is an (economic) incentive to do so.
Many highly educated and successful people are getting affected by this ban - that's the primarily reason that the backlash is so strong. A lot of people and companies' money is getting fukked up.

On the other hand, the BLM movement failed to yield any results because the people getting shot aren't contributing to society at that high of a level. It's a sad truth but it is what it is.
Similarly, this is the same reason why giving Jews and Japanese reparations is more politically feasible than it is for giving AA's reparations.
Progress isn't made in this country by appealing to someone's morality. It's all about the money.
It's become the thing du jour to complain that Obama didn't do anything specifically for black people. But when you ask these same people, what they did these past 8 years to improve their position, they are dead silent. Yes, Obama did a lot for a lot of groups but he didn't do that shyt out of kindness of his heart: those groups actually fought for that shyt.
