I had a homie slash roommates girlfri3nd show crazy disrespect because an ex of mine was doing my laundry and cleaning my bathroom. They were married just eight months, but police say a 79-year-old man tried to kill his wife, 73, after accusing her of stealing his checkbook.

They were married just eight months, but police say a 79-year-old man tried to kill his wife, 73, after accusing her of stealing his checkbook.

Luis Ames, of Hallandale Beach, was arrested Monday after he struck his wife with the handle of a handgun, police said.

The woman, who police did not identify, was sleeping in their bedroom when Ames woke her up and made the theft allegation, Hallandale Beach Police Officer Josue Hernandez's police report said.

She denied the accusation, and he took a firearm from a dresser drawer. While shouting, 'I'm going to kill you,' Ames struck the top of her head with the gun while it was still in its holster, police said.

The woman's head was cut and "copious amounts" of blood flowed down her face, body and clothing, the report stated.

She fled their condo, which is in the 100 block of Golden Isles Drive, and Ames followed her into the hall. She told police she turned around and saw he was pointing the gun at her and that he fired it. A small bullet-sized hole was seen in a hallway ceiling, Hernandez wrote.

She called authorities and when police arrived, Ames voluntarily left the condo and was taken into custody.


Ames was charged with attempted murder.

It was the second marriage for each. They were wed in November 2013 by a notary in Miami-Dade County, according to court records.
