SL1 is no longer available with that deal. You can find SL1's on ebay brand new for that price though.

I'm not in the know about Canon's lines, but I know Sony's RX100 series has awesome video for a point and shoot. Should have researched a bit more.

Lowend Canons arent really good for video with the exception of the t5i and sl1

Sl1 doesn't have the 9 point cross type auto focus in video mode like the t5i so the t5i should be dudes top choice if video is important

Yeah video Is important to me, I don't want to get deep I to photography, I just want superb quality videos and photos of my daughter and my daily endeavor for my youtube vlog. My wife likes taking pictures so that is important to her, so I kinda wanted a hybrid of the 2,

OP fukked up. Canon had a Black Friday sale for Lens and Body DSLR bundles online for $300 and up.

They were factory refurb's but still came with the 1-year warranty. Them dude's on Slickdeals ate good.

I copped the Sony A5000 and I fukking LOVE IT..video quality is wonderful and the picture quality is crazy...even in LOW LIGHT..

it's worth it, my only problem is the battery drains alil fast when recording video, but overall it's an excellent camera.

If you're gonna be stationary most of the time when you shoot your vids then the SL1 is fine

If not then get the t5i
