He should move the majority into another account only he owns...although a lot of banks won't let you transfer from a joint account without the ok from the other joint account holder. He would have to make small withdrawals weekly and transfer to his own account, as long as she doesn't have apps or checks the accounts she shouldn't notice

They can start with a joint account they can use to share bills and each have their own accounts
