If he makes over a 19, then imma salute you...on the other hand, anything less than a 16 and imma honestly tell you not to get your panties in a bunch

i was gonna come in here and hate but i cant :heh:

have him take both! and honestly i know the essay questions may sound intimidating but there really is no wrong or right answer on those. he sounds like a very smart kid so i would imagine he doesnt have a hard to formulating thoughts and writing them down.

props to you for raising your son to be a genius

Honestly.. thats his genes. My brother is smart as shyt.. I was the :smoker: in school. I could never beat my brother in grades so I stopped trying. :guilty:

The most I do is keep him focused. Homework has to be done etc. Typical parenting

If he needs help studying for the ACT you could go on Amazon and buy him a practice book for like $20. That's what I did and it helped me out (Even tho I plan to take that ish again.....fukk a 24 :to:). The book has 3 full length tests inside and gives decent tips on time management (My problem area :snoop:).

Anywhoooo.....Congrats on raising a gentleman & a scholar. I wish him luck :win:

After reading the Duke site, I think he can only take one for their purposes. I guess he can take the 2nd later

Shugg was right he needs a 19 or higher

I made part 1 back on SOHH - Nov 2008. The thread is "database error" now :hamster: Back then He was maybe 8 then..
2nlit5.jpg

Now he is in 7th grade. Duke University has selected him as part of their talent search for gifted students. - Duke TIP - He is already doing the program where you finish high school with your A.S. degree. Duke wants him to take either his ACT or SAT in December with the High School students.

Brehs, I'm not from USA so I really aint have much guidance on knowledge on how the schooling works here. I'm just happy he gonna have some scholarships lined up to go along with the 529 Florida plan I will be paying for him to attend Univ.

He wants to take the ACT instead of the SAT because he doesnt want to attempt the essay questions...

Any guidance from former gifted students or other parents. I would appreciate it.

Not everyone gonna be a athlete so leaving that for my younger son :aicmon:

Congrats
* Make sure he preps for the essay questions, just from a college angle, would still need to gain/understand essay questions and be prepared for them.
* Make sure he takes the ACT and SAT
* If he is prepared for the ACT cool, he can take the exam soon.
* Then gain time for SAT, to prepare for the SAT
* Depending on the scores on ACT or SAT, could be leverage during college application
* If he gets a good score/keep testings, good to get the ACT test away
* Make sure specifies is race on the exams, because once the places well on the exams, there will be many schools, who would offer entire college tuition for university
* Make sure he takes AP course, which will save time or money once in college.

To give you a different insight...I made a 19 when I was in the 7th grade with a Louisiana public school education, and made it to LSU with a scholarship, coulda had 2 if I went to UL...so if your bro could tutor your son in high school he will be just fine...does he play sports?

• I think thats why he wants to skip Essay and just do ACT 1st
•*Prolly do ACT now, and SAT later... you just need one for Duke Tip
• The race issue... √ Black. Correct

He can redo the tests later for higher scores.... but does the schools now you did this?
