Just make sure he aint socially akward kalik. A lot of them low self esteem having smart kids be the ones what tried to dumb themselves down to fit in.
Nah. He needs to put them in a school where EVERYONE is smart. Kalik, look into charter and magnet schools, IB schools as well and see what you have to do to get your child in one

That's the kind of school I went to. When everyone is smart/college oriented it makes your child feel more confident about being smart. The social skills will fall into place. Pretty much all of my friends from high school would have been considered "nerds" at other school academically, but when you even the playing field of everyone being smart, it makes that social foundation much easier to create.

Although we did have some lames in school though. Black kids usually shine the most in these settings though from what I've seen. It's really on the whites and Asians who still get picked on in that kind of setting. He will also have access to the better looking high school females as well. IDK what it is, but schools with better academic programs always have the better looking females, maybe because of the area they are in.

I have never in my life attended a "regular" public school though. Only private and magnet.

• I think thats why he wants to skip Essay and just do ACT 1st
•*Prolly do ACT now, and SAT later... you just need one for Duke Tip
• The race issue... √ Black. Correct

He can redo the tests later for higher scores.... but does the schools now you did this?

From what I have seen, most colleges accept score choice and thus you can send one (SAT or ACT). For those who reject score choice, their rules vary. Some require no ACTs if you submit SAT, some require all ACT official scores if you submit any ACT, some who otherwise require all SATs will accept a single ACT score, some of those require you to list all other ACTs in your application, some state their requirements in such ambiguous ways that no one can really figure out what their rules are, other variations. Colleges have reacted to score choice in varying ways and apparently don't care about being clear or if the result is to make the application process even more complicated than it was before. So you need to check with each college to determine its rules on the ACT.

What's up with him?
Its hard to explain, he just living in 2 households (his moms and mines) and they are nothing alike. Plus his parents are different races, so one day he's with me riding around to Dancehall the next day he's with her listening to rock.

I can see him trying to find himself. Typical pre-teenager shyt but he trying to please his moms and me. I just told him to do what he wants. I was buying him Jordans and shyt. But he's into that skater stuff. I had to fall back a lil.

This is when I wish I had majority custody... He'd be in "private" school. Instead Im paying his moms Child Support and he goes to public

Yea he missed out, give me public school with some real nikkas and some funny characters over private school where i dont feel included any day...

Shid I am what I am today because of the schools I went to, and who I hung with, and who raised me...fukk a private school.

One thing though...if he goes to public school, he will get kinda "clowned" for being so smart, but when he's a tall handsome senior (no homo, my experience  ) all the people that was kinda clownin him will be like, "damn i shoulda been like shugg"/...a year or two after he graduates and is in college with the hunnies, all he gone hear is "damn..i shoulda listened to mom like shugg and did my hw/go to class/study/go to college"

Makes me want to have a son one day

No one really clowns him.. they all have seen me. I have never seen so many kids look up to me... This may change in high school though. He needs to find "himself" by then tho. I cant save him then.

I don't mean save as in fighting. Kids just like me, Im the only "younger" parent.
