Lost mines in 07, two months before HS graduation
He was like my dad cuz we hung out so much, and He basically raised me since my mom had me at a young age...
I mean he had it coming cuz he was a depressed alcoholic... But that shyt hit me hard

People cope in different ways, maybe OP just needed to talk to someone other than family right now, talk to someone who has been through it but not as close to the situation.
Sorry for your family's loss. It's just going to take time. We all know it's coming one day but that doesn't mean you are ready for it when it happens. It just takes time to accept and deal.
Just try to be helpful and give them space if they ask. Make sure they eat and sleep. Help out with somethings they usually do everyday but can't right now. If there is any kind of arrangement planning y'all can do or finding documents etc... Start on that.

just sitting there and holding a person's hand or a hug for some reason means a lot.
the family just buried an uncle of mine yesterday.
my aunt is a mess.cannot even begin to understand losing the love of your life.
all i did was help wherever i could.
unfortunate part of life!!
