Probably congenital mixed with poor health decisions in diet and lifestyle, stress etc.

My Grandfather died of a heart attack at 50, my pops is 55 and still humming along. So while we have heart troubles genetically it is primarily activated by environmental causes. My grandfather smoked cigars ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAY. My other grandfather who passed drank just as much and of course died from the complications.

Is it possible to have congenital issues and live a healthy life? Absolutely. But you can't fukk up. Even if we have genetically weak kidneys you won't get diabetes unless you drink too much and ignore your health completely. My pops has had issues with stress but as long as you don't smoke and cut down on drinking heart attacks shouldn't happen that early unless it's a congenital malformity.

Some rare congenital issues don't rear their head until 30. Has he ever had an EKG before that ? They should be able to tell on your annual physical how your heart is doing and see the signs well ahead of time. That and strokes too - They are not often things that just happen randomly. If you know a lot of your fam has probs get your shyt together long before something like that can happen.

This is why I am so big on supplements. I take antioxidants everyday. Everyone has SOME kind of genetic weaknesses which is why most people die of cancer, heart disease and other things before 65.

The key is to identify them and address them as early as possible. Not to say you can't mess up once in a while but you should be paying attention to how much nutrition you are getting very closely.

If you have fam with heart problems makes sure you are getting a lot of cartenoids. They protect the heart and blood vessel function. Lower alcohol intake to 1-2 a week and 3-4 servings per sitting at most. DO NOT SMOKE. And of course exercise, even walking helps a lot.

More than likely had a pre condition, like missing a valve, or hole in heart. Doubt it was a blockage that caused it

Right, the only way blockage can occur is if you usually have atherosclerosis or thrombosis of some kind which is rare in young people under 30 unless they are pre-diabetic or obese.

I knew a guy that had cholesterol higher than my dads at 23 years old. Docs of course oversimplify and tell him not to eat eggs and put him on cholesterol blocking meds. The guy was normal weight and wasn't pre-diabetic so they should have known the likelihood of being a congential prob. But most PCPs are terrible you need to see specialists which cost deductible money out of pocket - Like a gastroenterology expert. Those nikkas get paid like $175k a year easy.

The reality is that there was a problem with his bile production and gall bladder from birth that they found out. I don't know how how many brehs know this but if your bile is off your cholesterol levels will be out of whack. usually when they remove the malfunctioning gall bladder cholesterol problems decrease but it's not a cure all. They got him off the cholesterol meds with medication that made his gall bladder function better. Then he eventually phased off that and onto digestive enzymes which worked even better.

Drs make mistakes, why you get second and third opinions.

If you have chest pains etc, get a ultrasound , EKG, drs love to say heartburn n throw you on pirlosec

That's not how you get strokes/heart attacks.

You get them from:

a) Over-stressing
b) Inactivity [both physical and mental]
c) Drug use (smoking the main culrpit)
d) Lack of sleep
:bryan::ohhh:
damn. looks like im next in line judging by this list.
A) im stressing koz im broke
B) im physically inactive
C) i jus smoked weed (drugs) and had a cigarette for desert.
D) I dont think i sleep more than 5 hours a day.
