I'm thinking about going back to school and doing something with computers, i have also been that IT guy in the family and even went to a trade school back in high school. My family have told me for years that i should do something with computers but being young and dumb didn't take there advice.

So my question what program should i go for, i have no idea which field i should study. :jbhmm:

If you're seriously reconsidering the IT field...take a certification course.
Net+ or Sec+
If you can pass that shyt...you're ready.

Yeah i started with A+, MCDST, but then i got the N+and continued on learning networking and just got my CCNA rs, and now working on the CCNP RS

Then get your A+ for general computer troubleshooting, then N+ for general networking. Also work on learning more about the later Windows o.s' and if you can, linux.

The trick will be narrowing down what you like. There are so many paths to take with IT so I would suggest doing some research. If you're more hands on like taking PC's apart and that type of thing, then you'd mostly likely want to be some type of technician or focus on hardware. The software side is a whole other animal. There is programing, security, reporting, etc. Research what's currently popping and what's booming before you make any moves. there is fukking certification for anything you can think of, but you don't want to be halfway through paying for it, only to realize it's not what you want to do. The good news is certification programs/tools aren't that expensive so if you change your mind you're not wasting as much money as say switching a major in college.
