Damn sorry to hear that. Dope that you don't seem to be harboring a bunch of anger about the situation because it won't help anything and could lead to you doing something crazy to relieve yourself from it.

Some shyt happened with my mom in the hospital and she hasn't been the same since and it still fukks me up.
Sorry to hear that. Naw, I can't do that because that anger wouldn't honor my mom and God. I know she wouldn't want that. Don't make it hurt any less though.

God bless you and your family. Your mother is proud right now of the man she raised.
No lies told about the disparities in health care treatment. We must be our own best advocates and not take no for an answer when something ain’t right.

It’s weird when everyday that passes is the longest you will have ever gone without talking to your mother. You will miss her forever but live the way she would want you to live to honor her. May her soul rest in the presence of the Almighty.

Yeah, we had to deal with St. John's. They were not good to her in that aspects I spoke on. She passed away in Beaumont in Groose Pointe though.

Oh, you're from Michigan. I'm from Michgian too.

Breh, That St. John's hospital is horrible!

You hear alot about racism in medicine. And what my moms went through these past 2 months was an example of that. She was a diabetic, got a bruise on her foot last month. Went to emergency, to foot doctors and they found "nothing wrong". She was in alot of pain and could barely walk. 2 weeks ago, we finally found a specialist who stated she needed her veins cleaned out in her foot. The appointment was suppose to be next week. Yesterday, she had a doctor's appointment for her diabetes and they found out she had an infection. They sent her to the hospital and last night they found out she had gangrene. They scheduled surgery for today but her gangrene was spreading fast. She lost so much weight these past years so she was only 85 pounds. She really couldn't put much of a fight. They did surgery and she got through it. Suddenly, her blood pressure went too low. They tried to revive her but couldn't.

It was rough seeing her body laying there in the hospital bed but I knew I had to comes to terms with it. To the woman who gave birth to me. It looked like she was sleep. My family of course is upset because they knew it could have been prevented. But these "systems" don't care about Black people. I know we're gonna sue but I don't really care right now. Not gonna bring her back. The only bright side is she's not suffering anymore. It's rough seeing the woman who raised you being in pain and suffering everyday. As a Christian, I know where she is at so I'm comforted by that. But I'm still in disbelief. She was a great woman. Sense of humor wise, she was like a female Fred Sanford. I love to watch her crack on people on TV.

Unfortunately, now I gotta deal with people who don't know what to say. So I have to deal with "If it's anything I can do don't hesitate to ask". "Call me you're sad". a billion times. But RIP mama.

Breh, condolences to you.

Yes it is. Unfortunately she like going up there. That and Beaumont are the closest to their house. St. John the only allows one visitor per day .So I was blessed they sent her to Beaumont because they allow 3 visitors per day. And I was able to say my good byes. BUT she never liked Beaumont.
