First off, my condolences. It's good to see that you have your brother there with you. Both of you will have to lean on each other and on your immediate family members more than ever now. Don't isolate yourself. You guys got money for the funeral and everything? I know that in Canada that the government gives the family a little money for funeral expenses. I don't know if that exists in the States, but that might be worth looking into:

Also, keep us updated on your mother's case. There's gotta be cameras around where she got hit. I hope whoever hit your mom will be brought to justice.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. I lost my Mom unexpectedly 10 years ago. The pain of losing her was so unbearable that I just wanted to die, just so I could stop hurting. But I knew that I had to keep living because I had to live, for my kids, and for my future.
So take the time you need to honor your Mom. Work through your grief, and let the memory of her help you go on from here. You will have some dark days, but you will see some sunshine after awhile. If you need to get some counseling, by all means get it. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

how old are you and your brother? ... Do you have an aunt or uncle who could go instead or at least go with?
you need somebody different there to view a body.. my uncle saw my pops cause he was in Vietnam and used to seeing somethings... since she was in an accident, you need somebody with you that can stomach things.. bring a picture, they might also do the photo recognition for you
