I Wrote My Post Before You Guys Posts Were Up So I Aint Coming At Any Heads, Just Sharing How Full Of shyt People Were At That Time lol

I Myself Was 18, Went To BMCC During The Summer (Which NYers Know Is Like A Block Away From The WTC) And Didn't Go Back In September, But I NEVER Talk About That Cuz 1. I'll Feel Like The Rest Of The Lames That Tell Me Their Story And 2. Cuz It Was A Good Month Or 2 After I Was In The Area So Who Cares

But Hey, Even In The Bronx You Felt The Impact Of What Was Going On Cuz You Can See The Towers From The Roof Of Any Building And Police And Firefighters From The Bronx Were Speeding The Streets To Get Down There

There was some :krs: stories on the :hamster: site that I read before I went to NY last month. We went to the 9/11 memorial which was crazy..being at the top of the Empire State Building across from the new WTC also made it more realistic as far as realizing how high those people were in the air. Then they were jumping

:leostare:
Empire State and WTC aren't even close, breh. You must have gotten something mixed up.

-------
As far as 9/11 goes, that was just "Tuesday" until the next week when the media started heavily using terms like "9/11" and "Ground Zero" and all that.

That Tuesday was the sunniest day I ever saw in my life. A clear sunny day with minimal clouds and then that happened.

I remember just about everything I did that day, but what I remember most was when the winds shifted in the evening bringing that smell into my neighborhood.

That scent of construction materials, computer parts, human bodies, jet fuel, and whatever else is something I won't forget.

I didn't mean they were like right by each other. I mean the view from the Empire State you can see the new one all the way across the city..and level wise it gives you an idea.

I woke up and saw what was going on on tv but was like fukk it i gotta go to work...got to the office and managers was in the parking lot sending people home...got back on the bus and it was crowded as fukk at the terminal, swarms of people...they ended up shutting down alot of down town

I didn't actually witness it first hand up close, because I was in the Bronx when it happened. But, I remember waking up to go to my Humanities class and my dad told me what was going on. I was bugging out because my dad worked right across the street from the Twin Towers at the time and he was off that day. I just started bawling instantly because he often goes into the WTC as part of his job and it instantly brought back all the memories and worry that I had when it got bombed the first time and me not being able to reach my dad for many hours. I was just praying and thanking God that my dad was not working that day and that we dodged another bullet.

Then I started panicking because the phones weren't working and my uncle works in the same building as my dad and we couldn't reach him for hours. So the whole day was just worrying and praying and crying and just overall sadness. It was one of the most stressful days of my life.....shyt, I'm getting stressed just typing this out right now.

Luckily, one of my cousins lived right up the block from us and came over and said she had spoken to our other cousin (who is the daughter of my missing uncle) earlier in the day before the phone lines went down and she said that her dad was off of work that day too from some crazy reason.

Once all my family members were accounted for.....which took a while since the phones weren't working then it was just sadness for the people who died and just the loss of the Towers which was a significant monument in NY as a whole and me personally since I spent a lot of time there because of my dad. I remember going to office parties there, watching the fireworks on the 4th of July from one of the higher floors and riding the elevators, etc.

It was just a fukked up time overall. But the aura in NY afterwards was something I never felt before. Everyone was really concerned for other people and there was just this feeling of togetherness....like we all had this common bond or something.

How was the building on the inside? Just your normal office just a lot of floors? They never show too much footage of how it looked inside.

I visited NYC little over a month earlier, but didn't have time to visit the towers like I wanted too. Watched the 2nd plane hit on TV............but it was years later when the alternative viewpoints and thinks like this "predictive" TV show started to come out....
