Is the hypocrisy.

In my experience, fake-deep people are some of the biggest consumers of the shallow music they pretend to dislike. You'll see these people talk about "x leafy rapper is bringing the game back and stupid people are too obsessed with Young Thug to notice", then you'll find these same faux deep people bumping Young Thug. :dahell:

Don't they realize they're on the same mental level as the 'stupid people' they chastise? At least the stupid people don't have weirdo superiority complexes.

Only time it's "faux" deep to me is when a rapper subject matter rapidly changes all of a sudden. When you go back and listen to the rappers old shyt and they are rapper about issues or "deep" stuff back before they were popular.... Not sure why they would be considered "faux" deep

But not sure why you would criticize the fans, I like Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Lupe, Killa Mike... I also Like Future, Gucci Mane, Kevin Gates, and Boosie so I guess that makes me hypocrite or nah?

There is something called "Compartmentalization" in which a person can hold 2 opposing ideas without it clashing with their views or outlook.

I used to loath Young Thug, couldn't stand what trap music stood for or anything. but I learned that it's all music at the end of the day, and sometimes I get tired of listening to a nikka trying to save the world because some days I wake up and don't feel like saving as much as I do fukking shyt up.

Young Thug and Nas both in my playlists,
Thugga for the dancing/party/cool-out shyt
Nas for the revolutionary/educated street shyt

So you lowered your standards :lolbron:

Joke aside, I get what you mean and my post wasn't aimed at people like you. You're not pretending or being dismissive to 'lower forms of music' while consuming said lower forms of music.
