You know what depression is like?

It feels like someone's punching you in the gut
You feel empty and hollow,
They're whispering shyt like, "It's all your fault, you aren't shyt, all you can do is be a little bytch",
Nothing's fun anymore,
Food doesn't taste like anything,
Every time you try drinking something you feel like vomiting,
You can't sleep, you're actually too tired to, ain't that something?
You start hating yourself more than usual,
Then you start hating other people,
You wanna break shyt,
You wanna run away,
You wanna give up, but what's there to quit when everything else starts boring you,
Holy shyt don't get me started about the boredom,
You start hearing shyt, noticing patterns, your tinnitus starts acting up again,
Your head hurts, your eyes are always dry, you get numb, you get cold, you get too hot when you put a jacket on,

The worse part is, you feel totally alone.

Mental and emotional fortitude and patience is what I'm working on and reading up on too. Daily exercise, good nutrition, morning practices...all play a role in maintaining it. I expect setbacks to happen so I will be ready to respond and overcome it.
thats the way forward ,
alot of the depressed want things to be fixed but life is fluid , everyone has their own level

Yea, my family history and issues with shame are something I looked at recently in the past few years. we still have to handle our daily grind, be better step by step and put in hard work to achieve goals and be proactive. I do realize that some stuff lingers too so I try to anticipate those slumps too.

Depression is your brain physically going haywire. When a brain is depressed, the mother fukker actually looks depressed, physically. Your self ain't nothing but neruons and chemicals and those fukk up from time to time. You could given your opinion on people with a broken leg and this thread premises wouldn't be any different.

But what causes it to go haywire besides the brain just fukkin up? I wouldnt give the same opinion to people with a broken leg because broken legs and depression don't happen the same way. Broken legs don't happen because of chemicals they way depression does

Emotional trauma can fukk the brain up physically as weird as that sounds. My grandmothers death fukked up my uncle and it's certain shyt he can't taste. It's that crazy.

:snoop: people are murking themselves because they have a mental illness they cant control. i'm not trying to diminish deppresion. i'm just guessing as to why it EXIST in the brain in the first place.

it's a chemical imbalance. some people are just born that way

my grandma on my dads side struggles with depression my grandma on my moms side did too, anxiety as well. and i've been dealing with manic depression (bipolar) for over a decade.

cant be happy all the time

Exactly! Let's say that depression doesn't exist but a mental disease called anti-depression did. People would be at their grandma's funeral but extremely happy for no apparent reason. People would consider that an issue, right? Maybe depression is an evolutionary survival trait that counters being too happy all the time. Maybe not but maybe it's possible that the brain decided that being uncontrollably sad was more necessary than being uncontrollably happy. We know depression kills people but maybe being to happy could too in some fashion

If people are born that way, and so many people suffer from it, then something about depression has to be necessary, right?

I know it's an article from cracked but I read this a few years ago. Just talks about how brain disorders were or could've been an advantage at a point in time
