A proper effective winning legal argument would have been “according to the court in this case, this opinion is not a valid reason for blah blah blah”
Merely pointing out that it’s ad hominem isn’t pointing out a LEGAL basis for why it’s wrong, so you’re basically just babbling if you don’t give the court some actual authority other than your feelings are hurt.

Look up legal writing and maybe then you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

edit: here's an example that was posted on here the other day.
