that shyt is inescapable. you could fix it but it will come back eventually. my shyt lasted 4 years when sent to Sony. a few months when fixed by others. there is no permanent fix.

I got the YLOD twice on my OG PS3. First time, I had it repaired, but it came back three months later. Fixed it again myself and it broke again like an hr later.

damn only an hour? the last time my shyt broke i said fukk it. i copped a refurbished 80gig from gamestop with a 2 year warranty. if i got 4 years damn near playing the last one everyday, I'm hoping i could get a decade off of this one.

Hit up youtube. Mine was overheating about two years ago. I took it apart, cleaned off the old thermal paste, applied some new paste and a few heatsinks and it's worked fine since. I have a PS3 fat from 2006 that plays PS1 games so I'm not trying to part with it. PS4 is worth the $, too, imo
