my reflection on losing smooth3d and the state of the coli

Couldn't have said it any better@Smooth3d passing away has honestly got me a little fukked up. usually when the real life of a coli member is posted here its in the form of an exposal or some other bullshyt. this is a reminder of how fragile life is and how lucky we all are. for those of you who didn't know @Smooth3d, he was an active member of the arcadium and particularly involved in console discussions.
his last thread was about how online hate needed to go away and that is something that right now could apply to a lot of the coli. when @Brooklynzson and I made the coli it was supposed to be a new beginning. we wanted to create a place that promoted positivity, that encouraged one another to be productive. to share not only laughs, but knowledge to help each other pursue our goals and improve our lives. when the coli first started it seemed like members were uplifted and these goals that me and brook had envisioned were taking place. i consider myself lucky to have found this little corner of the internet and its been a pleasure to share it with all the members. but lately it seems like negativity has started to take over the coli and reading some of the threads that have been posted has just been depressing. i enjoy some fukkery as much as the next member and im not asking for it to stop but thats not all this board has to offer. i wish it didnt take losing a member and seeing everyone come to together again to make me realize this but now's a good a time as any to try and start making some changes

online hate isn't unique to the coli though. Most of the negative things we say about the coli could be said about ANY message board. The problem with message boards (and all online communication) is that people are willing to say stuff on here that they'd never say to somebody's face in real life. That's just part of interacting over the internet. With that said, RIP to the @Smooth3d
Its never been this bad, and Coli is probably the worst will all the trolling and flamers going at their enemies. I liked the idea, if someone is not adding anything to the thread, ban them from the thread.

You must not go on any other message boards. The coli is pretty tame in comparison to most, and this is a message board of men, let's not turn it in to one for btiches

Indeed fueled by the necessarily pride/ego perfect way to create dissension among each other. I would often times peep the homie comments here and there just viewing this or that thread in the arcadium. and one thing that remain prominent in just about all the posts ive seen from him is that he was a embodiment of positive energy. [[[[even if me and him did disagree on movies, it was a positive disagreement even though it would sometime go to 2 pages,lol ]]], I think some of us that partake in sonning/ethering need to take 5 steps back and evaluate all of this with a keen observant eye, and mature open mind and most of all a strong heart.

im not trying to sit here and preach and turn this into some holier than thou forum. there was plenty of beefing and fukkery when the coli first opened but yet it still seemed funner than it does now. all im hoping for is people to think twice about whether or not being so hateful and negative on here is really worth it. lifes too short to be like that all day long imo
