Hes not elite but you can win with him,hes not the problem nor is the offense that awful d was

If the D was just mediocre theyd be in the playoffs this year
bu-bu-buuu... I thought defenses dont matter in todays NFL :heh:

They went to the NFLCG, of course you can win with Cutler. You just better not expect him to carry you there.
Mark Sanchez has been to two AFC title games. Is he a franchise QB as well?

Jay's easily a franchise QB. He's not an elite QB. There is a difference but Cutler is there with Ryan, Romo, Big Ben, Flacco, and guys like that. He got them to a NFCCG.

after yesterday's game (I really needed to see Cutty play well against the Pack), I'm keeping Cutler no matter what. He is now equipped and mentally ready to battle the Pack out right. That guy is going to excel next year in this offense and blow the league up. Plus, with the defensive side of the ball hurting as much as it is... we need to keep all of our attention there to get that side of the ball corrected. We need to leave the offense intact. Cutler and McCown should come back

No. There is clearly a difference. That's like saying is Trent Dilfer a franchise QB. :comeon:
Well, why not? You just said Cutler's a franchise QB because he got to the NFC title game, but you can't expect him to carry you there. How is that any different than Sanchez?

whats the clear difference ?
was cutler ever in the playoffs without a top 5-10 defense ?
were the bears or any cutlers teams ever above .500 without a good (top 5-10) defense with cutler at qb ?
answer me those questions breh

because by your definition, mark sanchez on the jets circa 2009-10 and alex smith circa last few years are franchise qbs

The defense carried those guys from Day 1. They didn't even do their part or have a lot or responsibly. You might as well bring up Grossman and Orton too if you lack that much logic.

2011 was there best overall team and Jay did more than Flacco last year during the regular season.
Dilfer, Grossman, and Snachez were all below average regular season QB's for their team. Their team won in spite of them. Cutler was a big part of the reason why they won games.

Ill answer my own rhetorical question, the answer is no.

bears success clearly depends (or depended till now) on the defense much more so than the qb
those denver teams never made the offs with cutler at qb because their d was bad, and when chicagos D was bad with cutler they never made the playoffs or even had a record above .500

two times bears made the offs was with a top 5-10 D in both scoring and yards

Id love for anyone to prove me wrong

stop spewing nonsense. 2010 chicago bears had 21st ranked offense in scoring and were 30th in offensive yards (word to fridasohh :heh:) cutler had 23 tds and 16 picks
bears were at the bottom of the league in passing offense in 2010. all they did well was not turn the ball over, attribute usually assigned by idiots to so-called 'game managers'

See @yseJ posts. Cutler hasn't gone anywhere without a top defense backing him.

End game for all franchises is a championship. As proven by the past 20 years of NFL playoffs anything can happen once you're there.
