Empire strikes back
wtf is your barometer then ?since when is making the playoffs a barometer of anything
pretty passes that go 50 yards in the air that are then picked off ?
then yeah, cutler surely is a franchise qb

End game for all franchises is a championship. As proven by the past 20 years of NFL playoffs anything can happen once you're there.

any of cutlers team won 10+ games consistently ?Winning 10+ games consistently is the barometer of a good team.

this is a thread about cutler's value to the bears as a qb, after all.
and thats the point, only time bears won 10 games was because of the D, been like that for a while. might be different now with trestman
Franchise QB doesn't equal elite QB. If you watch how GM's and scouts use the term there is a clear difference.
btw @Trip
the steelers won 10+ games 7 times between 1992 and 2002
their qbs- tommy maddox, kordell stewart, neil odonnell, mike tomczak![]()
explain alex smith's teams winning 10+ games three years in the rowyou realize it was a different sport 20 years ago
All franchise QBs, just not elite.btw @Trip

He probably will get elite money. Ryan and Flacco did.Franchise means he'd get elite QB money. I don't think there's any good reason to give Cutler elite QB money.
I think the Bears would be better off drafting Tahj Boyd. He's smart. He throws a good deep ball (great for Alshon and Marshall). Trestman is proven when it comes to QB development. He adds the running element that Cutler wouldn't dare do.
