Ya the Westbrook ranking was a tough swallow. He is top 5 but as I said I value versatility. Westbrook is amazing in certain areas but he is pretty bad in others. Falls asleep on rotations and doesnt fight through pick too much for my liking. Plus he isn't a spot up threat at all. If your run a play through Durant you can leave Russ open and not worry too much, except getting an offensive rebound. Also he is turnover prone and takes some horrible shots.
Lil Isiah really hurts on D because of his size but his defensive analytics are excellent. He is one of the best at staying in front of his man. Everyone on that Celtics team rotates really well and quickly so team defense helps him but he does a great job of contesting. Plus he is a threat in more ways than just off the dribble and with the ball in his hands.
Overall Westbrook is considered this "super hard working competitive" player but that's not really the case defensively. It's close between 6-11 I can rank that differently and I would obv put Westbrook higher off the eye test but this was a combo of that and the eye test.
Jimmy Butler tho, i wouldn't even put him top 25. Extremely overrated defender. I understand Chicago gives up open mid range shots and tries to guide offensive players into the help bigs but his footwork and the angles he takes when chasing off screens is terrible. So i stand by my Jimmy Butler ranking and I love D Wade so I stand by that ranking as well but Westbrook is a tough pill to swallow at 11, i agree. I need to work on my analytics a little more maybe. I gotta say that the diff between harden and Westbrook, it seems like with harden that he Just dorsnt understand defensive fundamentals and spaces out. Where is Westbrook doesn't give full effort but when he does he is actually a good defender so potentially he is a better defender than harden.
