What advice would you give me for taking care of my wife after the surgery?

While I try to keep her calm. My heart is racing Brehs This will be our first child. (Scheduled c section)

Prep: You will be behind the curtain. You won’t be able to see the incision being made. Just be there and comfort her. Talk about the name and make sure to congratulate her. Thank her also for being responsible and doing all she could to give you a healthy offspring.


Now to the main things

Make sure you have plenty of charge on your phone and take pictures.

They’re gonna ask you to cut the cord.

Watch out for crying. Make sure the baby can cry and ask if that’s normal. They will be suctioning the baby throat to remove the embryonic fluid. That’s normal.

Look at the baby color. Baby supposed to look pink.

Look at the limbs and look out for movements and anything that may raise a flag.

They will take the baby away and ask you to come back with them. Mother will stay back to get sutured up and then recovery. You will see her again in 1-4 hours, depending on how things go. Things will go well by the way breh.


Post Recovery Phase

She will have a tube to pee in. it’s called a Foley catheter.

Now, pain management gonna be the main thing.

Make sure she has the SCDs attached to her legs while in bed to prevent blood clots. Goal is for her to be outta bed in 4-6 hours so the foley can come out.

Also look at the incision with the nurses. make sure to ask how to care for the incision when you guys go home.


Get some rest while the baby is away. You will need it.

be your wife’s advocate….any funny shyt you see act on it…after the C-section and your wife is not feeling well make those lazy fukkers get up and do something…don’t be passive and make sure the hospital staff is on point.
