Years later, and being a Michael Mann fanatic, 'Collateral', but they are both great movies….As far as introspection about life and whatever, 'Collateral' has a lot of that too, from Tom Cruises philosophies, to Jamie Foxx's viewpoints, and how the two intersect, a lot about nihilism, emptiness, honesty and regret, ambition and unfulfilling lives, it's a deep movie, as well as being a masterful thriller and character examination, crime drama in the vein of all Mann's classics. His representation of crime is the best ever put to film-imo, 'Mystic River' is really good too, I saw that senior year in hs on a sort of double date situation, I was high as fukk, and all emotional when I got out at like 12 am, I just wanted a box of donuts to ponder loss and family and friendship over….
Collateral has so many great scenes, all the interplay between Foxx and Cruise, the Bardem scene, the club, the coyote scene, the music is dope as fukk too...
