Isaiah Thomas, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, Hassan Whiteside. Deandre Jordan
Draymond and Isaiah were great players in college I knew they'd be good pros dudes were drafted low because they were undersized.

I don't think players under or over achieve player development, role, mentality, draft day stigmas, stylistic changes, opportunity, measurements all play a big role in how these guys pan out.

You didn't have to be very athletic or big to be a successful pg in the early 90s. Mark Price, Scott Skiles, BJ Armstrong, Danna Barros were good/all-star starting pgs back then. Add that to the fact that Hurly played for a great Duke team.

Still 5'10 160 Scott Brooks had better NBA career than him

But none of those guys broke their back/lungs/shoulder/knee and nearly died 19 games into their career on on TOP of having no size or athleticism. :stopitslime:

And Scott Brooks is listed at 5'11" 165 pounds, same size as Hurley. I think Hurley pre-injury was already better than Brooks, an Andre Miller-like floor general in the making. Post-injury, it was just incredible that he was making rosters.

Actually, Andre Miller could be on this list too. Slowest player to ever score 50 in a game, most unremarkable player to finish top-10 in NBA history in assists...

I usually say players that went undrafted.

The John Starks/Brad Miller/Ben Wallace types that actually have individual hardware and all-star appearances.

#1 IMO is probably John Starks...people tend to forget that if the Knicks win that game 7 he wins Finals MVP over 2 Hall of Famers in their primes.

Ben Wallace has the most individual hardware and the ring, but he was very limited offensively. Starks could play on both sides of the court and going up with 2 much better players in Reggie Miller and Jordan and held his own.

UHHHH i get your point... but.. your point also goes to show you dont get the popovich scouting team...

parker went something like 19 no?

I won't claim to get how his team operates, but at the same time I can't see how many people would expect Manu would be as great as he is/was. Especially when he was drafted in 99 and didn't play his first NBA game until 2002?

if you mean expectancy.. your 100% right.. but pop's team is all about the diamond in the rough..

after duncan, everyone drafted was drafted for a particular reason...it never mattered what position.. it was just WHO they drafted... and so many are international players.
