Em's fall off was a very rough 1. That Encore album is 1 of the worst albums I've ever heard. shyt was so bad it felt like at the time it was a fake album and a joke.
He did "relapse" with Relapse though; if you can get around the accents.

I don't think Em has an album that's seeing It's Dark & Hell is Hot. I do like SSLP a lot tho and much of MMLP and TES too.

Only thing I could say Em is better than Joe at is flows, but that's subjective because rapping fast isn't something a rapper is required to do
Subject matter they're pretty even, both have that moody, dark, drug addict rap down pat
Bars....they're both witty as fukk and nice with words, I guess that would be a preference thing but I'd go with Joe because his punchlines and sports references are top notch
Songwriting I'll give Em that, even though Joe is nice in his own right as well

"better" in what way? there's plenty of artists that make better songs & albums than Em. "better" in just outright spitting, multis etc there's prob not many since he came out but there's more to being an MC than JUST how many syllables you can rhyme together.
you could say MF DOOM because even tho yes he was Zev Love X before that, DOOM is and was a complete departure from the KMD style of rhyming and subject matter etc, it's basically a whole new MC.

Em really only has the advantage when you talk about all out spitting but when you look at WHAT he says sometimes it's just stupid nonsense and his flow is all but gone since Relapse. every other aspect of MCing Em isn't up there anymore IMO
