There's no denying the color of skin has helped him tremendously in terms of his popularity but there's also no denying that he's nice.

The white boy can spit and got classics :yeshrug:

But I understand if some and or maybe many don't fukk with a lot of his music. I don't like all of his shyt either but there is a good majority of his shyt I do.

Eminem was that dude for a minute YEARS ago.

I'm not impressed by that rippity, rappity "technical" shyt. Most of the legit top MCs of all time are not rippity, rappity rappers like Eminem. He has a couple classic songs but he has ZERO legit classic albums and his catalog is filled with some of the corniest rap songs I've ever heard. It's almost laughable that dudes feel they have to name him when they talk best rappers ever. I've honestly never met a non white person that listens to his shyt. No lie.

Not talking bout these days. Em is past his glory days.

you can't pick & choose, his career is his career. you can't point out how well JR Rider did in the dunk comp, compare him to Jordan then conveniently ignore the rest of his career.

I hear on the bolded however in Eminem's defense, he balances it out with actual SONGS; so it's not like it's all about the over the top "rippity, rappity 'technical' shyt".

But I feel you on that.

I'd say that Marshall Mathers LP is his classic. The Eminem Show damn near classic. However, you and I know opinions on music are subjective.

I knew quite a few white guys who fukked with his music. But I believe you.

I do feel what you saying when you say some people feel like they have to name him whenever there's talk of the best rappers however I don't think it's ridiculous to name him.

Why would I be judging an Eminem of 2017 against someone like Kendrick today? That shyt don't even make sense. lol

I'm talking bout his prime and peak era.

I don't listen to Em at all, never did. A friend of mine at college had Marshall mathers Lp or something and had some good shyt on it but he's not great to me. Rarely floats on the track, rarely even gets me to bob my head. His voice is irritating.

Who I would put above him who came after:
Lupe
Mos def
Elzhi
Canibus
Mickey facts
Crooked I
Lil wayne
Pharaoh Monch
Currency
Rick Ross
Pusha T
Freddie Gibbs
Fabolous
Solo jadakiss
List probably goes on...

A lot of these guys nice but got no body of work to really back up there talent --- example --- Pusha T

Mos was around before Eminem. shyt, Mos was on De La's Stakes Is High album.

Canibus, great talent but no album to back that shyt up

Freddie is probably the closet out of everyone you named.

All that talent and Jada ain't got not a 1 album to show for it. His catalog is weak.

Fab? Naw, bruh bruh

Ross, fukk no.

Monch been around before em'. Organized Konfusion

Curren$y? He cool for the mixtapes but bruh's music be on cruise control a lot.

Crooked I is cool for a freestyle but albums>

Elzhi is a great talent. But where the songs at?

:stopitslime: you just told me you never even listened to it. stop lying nikka.

I went back and checked it out. :hubie:
Like I said, Timbaland and Noize showed their asses off with the beats but naw, it's no seeing what Em and the Aftermath camp cooked up.

Underrated album tho

Please name 1 Eminem track that would get played at a BBQ, house party, black bar, club, or even in a black man's car with his boy in it?

:francis:. All the people I've mentioned AND MORE would. Em has no soul - he raps like how I imagine he dances

Every last one of those dudes named are better MCs than Em. Like I said...If dude was Black this wouldn't be a conversation.
