I can't think of 1:patrice::jbhmm:

Eminem might just round off that top 5 of all time when you really think about it:mjpls:

No order: Biggie, Nas, Jay Z, 2pac and Eminem.

It doesn't seem to get much bigger than ^these^ names when it comes to impact and who people bring up whenever there's talk of the greatest rappers of all time and it's been this way now for a decade and longer for all of these guys.

You can't deny his skills, memorable songs and classic albums ---- might not be your cup of tea but you can't deny that it definitely made a mark in Hip Hop.
Eh, I was just listening to this Xzibit joint Em featured on back in the day. This shyt was nice. :wow:

Brother Ali
Cormega
Immortal Technique
Talib Kweli

Brother Ali cool but naw.
Mega didn't come out after Eminem
Immortal Technique is nice but sometimes I can't really ride with his off the beat flow
Outside of his work w/ Yasiin Bey as Blackstar and a couple of songs, Kweli ain't never been all that to me.

I hate that top 5 it's so generic and just wrong lol...

Anyway there are many. I think you assuming that Em started in 1999? Remember his debut in 1996? DMX came afterwards, Lil Wayne also. There are more as well.

You can hate it all you want but a person's top 5 is that person's top 5. You got a top 5 the next nikka might not like and vice versa.

I didn't say it was MY top 5. I was just speaking hypothetically and generally.

Oh and X was cool but Em was better. X never really wowed me on the mic like talking bout. He got songs I fukk with obviously, but lyrically X never impressed me like talking bout.

Lil Wayne? *crickets*

I said it was generic and you proved me right by saying "I was just speaking hypothetically and generally".
:hubie:

There's no outright better rapper than Eminem that came out after him I'll say that much. I'm saying you can make arguments for DMX (who I think is better) and Wayne (can't deny he was a force in his prime like Em was in his).

Can't think of anyone else though. Em and Wayne kinda had similar paths tho in terms of blow up and then fell the fukk off (but Em blew up sooner into his career whereas Wayne rapped from a really young age). shyt....same thing happened to DMX lol.

Might be "generic" to you sir, but all of those guys have more than enough attributes to qualify as top 5 for different reasons.

I hear what you saying though on both X and Wayne.

Cool man, didn't Mega come out 2001 with The Realness? I know he was going to do The Testament but didn't officially drop till later.

Kendrick & Lupe the closest consistent ones but let's be honest with ourselves...

Nobody after he has come out has been better, before him there are at least 9-10 and I'm being generous.

Still can't make a fukking album after 2002 sadly...

Lupe
Wayne
