There are very small portions of the city where you have to worry about this. I'm talking blocks. And it's very obvious when you're entering them and they're nothing near anyplace you'd want to go into.
If you lose your life over colors you have to be retarded basically.
Compare it to Houston where there's NO fukking zoning and you'll have a nice apartment complex next to a cement mixing plant next to the most hood, section 8 building. All in the same space of like 2 blocks.

I like the fact that going to one of the 5-6 HBCU in Maryland area is an option for my kids. I couldn't imagine living in a place where there is only 1 or no black colleges.edit. Almost everyone I know has attended or has a relative that attended Morgan, UMES, BOWIE, Coppin, or Howard.

That said maryland nightlife is actually better than San Francisco/Oakland. .and when I say Maryland I'm speaking about the Baltimore and dc metro areas.
