And I can name 20 wrestlers just as athletic who are ten times better then RVD. RVD had one solid year (98-99) before his matches became flow chart as fukk. His moveset was wack too. He had a few cool spots with the kicks and flips, but he had nothing else. I will say he was an excellent seller tho.

Athletically...probably nobody, but if you're talking about full entertainment, entrance to curtain, there are quite a few...the rocks, austins, flairs etc are all better in total. But if I'm focusing on in-ring-story-telling and workrate

Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, Sting, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura...
I could keep going, RVD wasn't great enough on the mic and while a great act on his own he couldn't be thrown in there with anyone to have a great match to the same level as those other guys

Prime A-Train and Mark Jindrak was far better than all of them. Shame they never got their fair shakes in the E. Hell I would reckon to say prime Darren Young better than all them too

RVD suffered from the same problem as Ricochet does now....comically overselling his movements and body language and coming off too fake
But I loved RVD in ECW...as an impressionable teenager I thought he was the best at the time.

RVD has only that Lynn match from LD 99 as a classic(and they ruined that trying to recreate it too much) And let me add RVD throw some of the worst worked punches I've ever seen in wrestling. Makes Cena look like prime mayweather

RVD was my favorite ECW dude though. I rarely heard him give promos, mostly cause in the WWE they basically scripted him like he was a surfer.

aj styles was lapping rvd by the end of the Daniels styles series fifteen years ago in every facet.
Although, I loved rvd but to watch aj styles in 2001 as the indy hero who saved wrasslin.
It was obvious styles was better in those series of matches wholeheartedly than anyone who would get in a ring.
Then he continued to get even better.
Also Bryan Danielson on roh tv did everything rvd was known for.
to even the senton off the top rope into the crowd and every prestigious.
or repped rvd spot in a safer manner and with higher psychology.
While in danielson's own stylized ground based turtle style meets high flyer based psychology inring.
Nigel McGuinness : Was better than rvd in a mainstream workrate capacity in tna and lapped rvd wholeheartedly in roh numerous times.
the tna draw time limit me match with angle.
easily showed Nigel was destined if not upended.
as an all-time mainstream great because of health reasons....
Austin Aries in the six pack challenge on rohtv was better than rvd, and continued to be better than rvd.
Evidenced also by the eventual aj styles versus Austin Aries tna bound for glory match.
Jerry Lynn : Arguably was better than rvd in roh as well
The issue with rvd was there was not enough guys in his weight class with his ability and style.
to give him enough people to face and showcase.
Which is why Jerry lynn is also a bridge to that workrate based wrinkle in time and why rohtv was the best televised content ever seen week to week on freetv or cable and not ppv in wrasslin history.

So they could have a crutch that enables them from lapping the son-in-law and forcing them to change.
to those awful strikes was because the son-in-law politically saw to it.
