He is in movies, TV shows, playing at the NBA All-Star celebrity game, you'll see a memoir from him at an airport shop, he'll be with Obama, modeling for GAP, in a commercial for Microsoft narrating, you'll see his video of him interviewing with GQ in your YouTube recommendations. Son pops up in the most random Netflix movies.

Canibus was found to be just a backpack/battle rapper

Mos Def got some good roles but didn't have the "it" quality

Jet Li was pigeonholed as the asian villain or sidekick. And he might have done better now since Hollywood has more Asian representation.

Now Amerie I read that there was some typical industry foolishness that prevented her from going bigger so who knows.

I disagree with Mos Def. He DEFINITELY had the “It” quality, dude was BORN to be a star. Excellent rapper, excellent actor, decent singer, dude could have even shined doing spoken word poetry. He just let it all go and moved to Africa.
