I'm really not sure what some of you expected here.....it's like some people just look for something to be down about. So many chicken littles and 4 whole years to go.

And they're still wondering how Hillary lost.....Go Dems Go!
Hillary lost because voters stayed home when they should have hit the polls. If an extremely large number of lazy or apathetic folks had actually hit the polls we would have President Elect Clinton right now. Has nothing to do with Pelosi.

There's a reason so many places, including Fox News, had Trump losing. It assumed participation would be on par with previous elections.

Any numbers you pull up and compare to previous elections tells the whole story.

Hillary lost because she was a piss-poor candidate with TWO FBI Investigations.

I stand corrected breh

But I know I'm on to something about the Senators. :ehh:

Why Montana has 2 Senators and California has 2 senators is something I'll never understand.

It's a throwback to the House of Lords in a way but I think it has its merits. It's to ensure small states are not set aside. And by small I mean population wise. Alaska is 1/3 the size of the Continental United States but has a small population.

It's a system of checks and balances and the Senate ensures representative parity for all States.

They redistricted to the point where even when they lose the popular vote in the house, they have a massive majority :dead:

That's complete injustice and u know it.

Que Injustica

All districts have the same population or close to it though.

If a dem wins a Cali district with 100% vote but a Republican wins another district in Cali with only 51% the numbers would look skewed in comparison but the Democratic process was still followed.

The Senate was a compromise to get smaller states to join the United States back in the day.

It does give smaller states excess power but generally speaking there's as many small liberal states as there are small conservative state so it doesn't matter.

Generally speaking the small states (two House reps or less):

Conservative:
North Dakota (has a Democratic Senator now)
South Dakota
Montana (has a Democratic Senator now)
Wyoming
Idaho
Alaska

Liberal:
Vermont
Rhode Island
Delaware
Hawaii
Washington D.C. (no Senators but counts in Presidential election with 3 electoral votes for less than 700,000 people)
