I think someone kinda said it in here. Salaam has given Nas undeniable classics songs/singles. And I think Salaam at his "BEST" can be better. But for a whole album, the music can be too inconsistent and almost a chore to get through. Whereas with Hit Boy, it's a more cohesive ride all the way through and taps into this era's sound more.

Nas and hit are more cohesive but Salaam gave him bigger songs no doubt let's not discount that now...

Hit has more of a skillset to do a better body of work

Salaam and Nas are at their best when doing break beat shyt. If we ever got the initial version of streets disciple that would have been all breaks like thiefs theme it might have rivaled the kings disease albums. One thing that hit has excelled at is inspiring Nas to carry out these kinds of visions as opposed to abandoning them and us dealing with what if's for years.

what if we got the original i am double disc or what if we got the original conception of streets disciple

:damn:

I think even yall purists and real hip hop heads can admit that Salaam is super duper hit or miss with Nas...if the shyt aint some straight fire then most likely it's some super mid/weak shyt.

Hitboy has a wayyyyyyyyyyy higher batting average, he's much more hit than miss, even the shyt that aint super fire like that is still some pretty dope shyt.
A lot of this shyt is just alright y’all gassing it

Salaam’s beats on Life is Good were bigger and more musical

Nas and Salaam have actual classic songs together

Nas and Hit-Boy.. You give this version of Hit-Boy with Nas while he was still in his prime and it's game over.. Nas is now a 48 year old venture capitalist worth probably 100 million he's not that same guy.

I'd rather listen to the handful of great songs Nas did with Salaam than whatever he's doing with Hit Boy. The KD albums just didn't do it for me.

Nas and Salaam for me easily.

Both King's Disease albums have not registered for me, unfortunately.

The funny thing is it's still game over at 48 :wow:.

Obviously nothing Nas and Hit have done match the highs of Nas+Salaam like Made You Look and some of the other tracks but overall album wise I’d much rather hear a Nas and Hit album. We never got a Salaam album with Nas. Would it have been good? Perhaps but who knows. Some of their collabs were big misses, like Zone Out.

I would like to hear Nas rap over another Salaam beat of course so I’m not hating.
