I think even yall purists and real hip hop heads can admit that Salaam is super duper hit or miss with Nas...if the shyt aint some straight fire then most likely it's some super mid/weak shyt.

Hitboy has a wayyyyyyyyyyy higher batting average, he's much more hit than miss, even the shyt that aint super fire like that is still some pretty dope shyt.

this...and im not a big hit fan and i think remi is a dope producer....but i agree

I'd take the weakest Salaam/Nas joint over the best Nas/Hitboy joint

This is exactly why Nas should never ever ever ever ever listen to most of his base and what they want, lol, no offense. You can have your personal taste in music but a lot of his base like universally weak sounding shyt I notice. I'm a part of his base too but my ears can ID some hot shyt and some weak shyt immediately...yall be whylin.

I can't even imagine Hitboy and Nas making a weak album.. Nas has finally found someone who can match his lyrical/conceptual prowess on the production/music side and meet him up there in the clouds...there's a reason he calls that shyt "magic" with them and says Hitboy is his Quincy Jones and all that...it's different, you aint getting no mid work from them together. Maybe some shyt you don't like...but unlike a bunch of past shyt production wise, it's not just "bad", lol.

Most in here basically has said what is is: Hitboy and Nas' together have been more consistent crafting projects but nothing they've put together on these 2 Kings Disease projects are as good as the highs of Nas and Salaam Remi.

Hit boys drums are weak on a lot of the tracks.. Not hard hitting at all. Thats the only thing that disappointed me with the last 2 albums

nas and hit boy. it ain't even close. salaam remi is so mediocre, its not even funny.
Remi is underrated breh. I say that as someone that used to be a huge Remi hater. But I heard him on a podcast, and actually went through and looked through his doscography and realized he'd made a lot of joints that I like.

People seriously overlook the classics Nas and Salaam have together

What Goes Around
Made You Look
Get Down
Nazareth Savage
Thief's Theme
Sekou Story
Where Ya'll At
Queen's Story
Nasty

Just to name a few....incredible stuff. I think it's more impressive than the Hit Boy stuff
No doubt. And a lot of this stuff has the advantage of time to have built nostalgia as well. It'll be interesting to see how some of the Nas and Hit-Boy stuff ages. As of now I wouldn't argue with how anyone is voting in this thread.

Hit Boy is missing something to me..

He's a dope producer but both of these Nas albums are full of album cuts.. Very cohesive but there's no standouts for me..

I'd take him to craft an album over Salaam but there's no Get Down or Made You Look... Maybe that's on Nas though:yeshrug:

Nas and Hitboy are good together but I’m rolling with Remi until Hitboy can beat Made you look or even thief’s theme:wow: He definitely ain’t beat Get Down yet.
