Illmatic is the only shoe in classic there. It Was Written is very, very close. It's Nas at his lyrical peak but IWW isn't an album I can bump front to back without skipping one or two songs.

The rest of his discography ranges from incredible (Stillmatic, Life is Good), to well not so good (Nastradamus). :manny:

This is based off Jay-z ranking of his albums. Can we agree that
Illmatic
It Was Written
Stillmatic
Lost Tapes
are all classic albums

I would ad life is good and ****** but some would disagree if they don't like Nas in general

What do you guys think.

NO.. IWW is first

Nastradamus aint garbage. That only was said back THEN based on the 3 albums he had before that. People still holding on to that

Streets Disciple is the worst. and its funny, if SD was 1 disc, it'd be top 4

Lyrically? Sure

Musically? I dunno..the highs on IWW are HIGH, but Illmatic feels more cohesive to me. It's sorta like The Infamous vs Hell On Earth. The former is a lot more cohesive musically while the latter has a lot of standout songs but also one or two skippable tracks

I think every album that's a classic has at least 2 songs you can't mess with

Hip Hop is Dead was a good album as well, maybe not a classic but definitely solid. But I agree with this assessment. Nas got much better after Illmatic, it's just the beats, and the cultural impact that makes the album a classic. Lyrics were dope, but still the growth of Nas is much more impressive looking back. It's close.

It Was Written and Stillmatic aren't 5/5.

It Was Written is a 4.5/5 and Stillmatic a 4-4.5/5.

Agree with the rest though.
