That would be wild if he did that bring on "ILLmatic III" rumors, lol. Dude probably shouldn't have leaked the "NYSOM III" news but these clicks are like crack out here, everyone wanna be first to report something. lol. Anyways, "NYSOM II" still blows me away till this day. It was the perfect sequel even though I still like the original better.

Griselda freestyled over it a few years ago on a Sirius XM show, don't remember which. But at the time it made me think damn...this should be one of the most freestyled over beats yet you rarely see it. To me it should be in the same pile of beats people always rap over - Dead Presidents II, Blood Money, Nas Is Like, etc.

Had eight partners growing up….

the count down of his friends is dope but that sequence is insane visually and flow wise

"It's like the game ain't the same
Got younger nikkas pullin' the triggers, bringin' fame to their name
And claim some corners, crews without guns are goners
In broad daylight, stick-up kids, they run up on us
.45's and gauges, MAC's in fact
Same nikkas will catch you back-to-back, snatchin' your cracks in black
There was a snitch on the block gettin' nikkas knocked
So hold your stash 'til the coke price drop
I know this crackhead who said she gotta smoke nice rock
And if it's good, she'll bring you customers and measuring pots"

That's like watching a Scorsese movie and the 2nd verse is quotable after quotable. Love nysom pt2 but the pt1 is Nas cocaine 99,99% pure

I am comfortable and I love you
NYSOM 2 has more bars that can probably relate to the listeners but in terms of pure rapping….NYSOM original is perfection.

Much as I love the sequel, it’s genuinely not close to me.
Run like a cheetah brehs :troll:

As much as I love that song, intellectual reciprocals breakdown of it was :russ:

that number scheme is better than that rappity rap ass shyt that nas was doing

idgaf what yall gotta say

1 is crazy tough but like buddy said some posts ago… 2 just more “relatable”

I like the number scheme. That was really dope.

But the first joint was dark, grimy and painted a crazy picture for what the album was going to be, and where the rhymes were going. It felt like NYC back then. Sh*t was perfect. That's probably why it's one of Nas's favorite records that he's done. And I love the second one too, but the first one is so iconic and crazy that nothing touches it. Might be my second favorite Nas joint after "The World is Yours".
