"Mic check 1, 2 1, 2" is a common phrase used to test if a microphone is working properly, ensuring sound quality and volume are adequate.
The popular usage of this phrase in hiphop culture is due to the unique pairing of the MC (rapper) and the DJ (producer)
In hiphop culture the 1's and 2's (ones and twos) are slang for the turntable.

The opening line of their song "Buggin' Out" is,
