My only issue is that there has to be acknowledgement or awareness of what general consensus is, whether you agree or not. I didn't like Mr. Morale that much and it was clearly disliked by a lot of people on twitter when he dropped. It got some bad reviews too. And there was a sense amongst some that Kendrick had fallen off lyrically and rapper wise, which later played into how the 2024 rap battle was initially perceived. And yet there are some Kendrick fans who are obsessed with denying the album got bad reviews or wasn't well liked. They're constantly claiming that bots or anti-Kendrick forces convinced people the album was disappointing. I think fans should be able to reject conspiracies and just admit reality. There is no defeat in saying "this is getting killed on Twitter but I fukk with it heavy."

I like plenty of shyt that people hate. Albums, movies, etc that got bad reviews.
Get off of Twitter.

It exists for engagement. Not valid discourse.

I think it's safe to say that Nas and Premo ain't doing shyt for this part of the fanbase ever again lol

This is the fan service album everyone asked for.

Premier. AZ feature. NYSOM3, 3rd Childhood, Sons. This is it. He brings an excellent and thoughtful rap performance paying tribute to the culture. It caps off a 7 album campaign that was executed very well

Heads end up bytching ad nauseum over the production...as always.

Drowning out most of the discourse around the merits of this album with pure negativity and disappointment, minutes after it released lol

I get not liking the album, completely. But the temperature with some of the feedback feels off. There's disappointment, and then there's a "blood in the water" effect and social media snowballs from there - it makes me miss when that wasn't a factor and the spaces were more... Curated.

It really feels sometimes like we get what we deserve because we don't appreciate shyt

It's a good album, maybe a great one. Not an instant classic or even close. I still don't feel like I have the right to really complain too much about what we're getting. I dunno maybe that's me lol
I dunno hit boy and Nas ran off six albums

and people were just as critical

Nas carryng Preem like a mf

Yall getting carried confused with giving the rapper a proper platform to get his shyt off. And yes there is a difference. Carried is like those Griselda cats over those weak ass Daringer beats or brehs over most of Swizz Beatz catalog

It's just ok overall. Production is meh but nas rapping at a high level on alot of this. Would've been more exciting if premier had only coproduced these songs. I think the prhyme albums were better. I even liked the ransom album more.

And it was HARD for me to choose only 15 but them 15 joints better than this whole album clearly. lol.

If they put those on one album then you have something. Cats are saying as good as the Nas/Hit albums are, they do have some filler which is true.

When @Supa says that Nas' writing isn't as detailed or esoteric as it used to be or when @FunkDoc1112 talks about the flaws in engineering, I can understand those criticisms. Doesn't mean I agree, but at least they're able to articulate why they don't like certain things about the album.

But when people on Twitter say that Premier is Hakeem on the Raptors, or people here say that Nasir/Nastradamus/whatever are better albums and Premier should go to hell, or the production is as bad as Tha Carter VI, that's where I either zone out or draw the line. Even if the consensus is negative, some people can't even express what they dislike without hyperbole. There is nothing, literally nothing, on this album that comes close to the monstrosity that's "Peanuts 2 N Elephant." That's Rugrats background music, come on now. @Zero knows what I'm talking about. :russ:

I'm not denying people dislike the album because clearly, they do. Seems to be the general opinion. But the question will always be: Do you dislike an album because it's genuinely bad, or do you dislike it because it's not what you personally wanted it to be? I know the answer is somewhere in the middle, especially since we're talking about one of the most anticipated rap albums in history.
