Damn you right about all that but on the strength of P, I thought he’d give her a little shout out among the ten thousand other names he dropped . I mean no disrespect but Bernadette Price got a shout…which I LOVED by the way:hubie:
I would be more surprised if he didn't mention Bernadette real talk. Santana would fall in the my bad/still love if I forgot you territory. Nas probably doesn't look at her like that/a rapper wouldn't be the first thing that comes to his mind due to association, might not even know she "seriously" raps like that :manny:

This, I can think of a few female rappers that used to get play on the Box back in the day that weren't named, some being from Detroit but I wouldn't expect Nas to name/remember them.
Well yes. Surely that’s comparable to PRODIGY from Mobb Deep’s daughter who he knows very well but somehow “forgot she rapped” like the multiple talented female Detroit rappers he forgot to mention :martin:

Are they laying the groundwork for the Nas/AZ project?!? :ohhh:

About 50 minutes into the Buddens interview they're already talking about just needing time to lock in for at least an EP. I think we'd all like to see that snowball into a whole album

This is the most “confirmation” I think we’ll get from Nas until the day they actually lock in to do it.

Looks like as of right now the ball is on AZ’s court but I don’t expect Nas to “wait” too long he seems pretty ready to keep working and if another idea pops up for another project I don’t think he’ll hesitate.

IF they can’t get the schedules lined up and it doesn’t happen i’d LOVE to see Nas link up with Q-Tip next or if he goes with a newer generation producer ala his work with Hit-Boy then i’d love to see a Nas and Metro project.

Gotta give Joe his props. I thought he was going to turn the Nas & Preme interview into a chatty patty, unprepared, mess, but he did an actual great job.

Its the best interview he’s ever conducted.

I'm not about to start lying..

I wanted the chatty patty stuff. Especially with Nas looking comfortable, expressive, n gregarious (by Nas standard)

Nicki (what happened)
Jay (Nobody can be on stage with me)
Puff (that's his man)
Dame
Jimmy
Kanye (y'all still talk)
Kelis (y'all better?) Taking your son to Kenya

The steps to pitch a business idea to Nas/QVP

:ohlawd:

I've spun this album so many times already. I love the production on this, man. It's raw, pure Premo. Plus, Nas is just Goating all over this album. The rhymes, the flow, delivery and voice... it's classic Nas.

It's Time :blessed:

Definitely classic Nas.

Production is perfect too. I was probably listening to a good 5-6 different albums a lot before this dropped. Now I'm just playing this and the Conway project, all day everyday. It's that good.

Tip would be an amazing choice to go with. Dude's my personal GOAT.

But I have a feeling a reunion with Pete is coming.

I forget who brought it up, but here's Premo talking about scratching random bars into classic hooks. From the Nahright Hard to Earn 20th Anniversary article:

“I’ve always been good at finding lines that work with hooks, even if it’s just a one-liner. I wasn’t really doing a lot of connecting words, that [start happening more] when people would be like, ‘Yo Premier, do a scratch hook for me.’ That was new. I was doing what other DJs were doing, which was taking one line, and dicing up different types of scratch patterns. I do all that for the DJs, not for the MCs. It’s so DJs will be like, ‘Yo, you took [Phife and Q-Tip and cut their shyt up crazy].’ That’s what I tripped off when I heard Public Enemy records. Like, ‘Oh, he cut Chubb Rock’s ‘Rock ‘N Roll Dude’ to ‘Rebel Without a Pause’ and did [a] Transformer [scratch].’ Then I practiced it until I could do it and master it. Big shout to Johnny Juice Rosado. When dudes like him or Howie Tee or Jam Master Jay did things, I would bug off the way they broke down a line. I was doing the same thing. And I still do it.

“Some of them just come to me, because as a DJ, I’m just a walking music library. Sometimes I search for them. And then if I use Phife here, I’m not gonna use him for the next seven songs, or ever again. I always made sure I was cautious of who I used, voice-wise. I hear it in my head already, sometimes just from a line [Guru] says, or the title.”
