I doubt they care, but if they do. These 2 brothas got no one to blame but themselves and their team if and when this album sells around 10k.

Months and weeks leading up the release, the anticipation was crazy. then 48hrs prior they released the worst song as a teaser, talking about termites and mice. That shyt was a terrible decision.

Most of Nas’s fan were shytting on it and the negativity already had started.

Had they teased a joint like madmen, junkie or nasty esco nasir, i guarantee the response would of been better.

record sales do not dictate the quality of an album. its still a 4 mic album

A lot of em just manufacturing reasons to complain at this point :manny:

Writers sound exactly like early 90s Premier. Who cares if he sampled a Marco Polo instrumental for the bassline instead of giving away 75% of the publishing for the same chords off a 70s record?

Facts.

You see it too. Every other day, they're trying their hardest to find things not to like about the album. It's sad to watch. I don’t know why these dudes are so miserable, but they're clearly not Nas or Hip Hop fans.

The dope part of all of this, is that real heads just got an album from Nas and Premier that they love and can f*ck with for years to come. There's always gonna be some weirdo trying to ruin the moment, but we got some good music to vibe out to. And that's not gonna stop because these dudes are mad at Nas all of a sudden. We eating good!

:blessed:

Yeah, even trying to wrap my head around from my advertising world perspective...it really doesn't make sense how they rolled it out lol. Lke I suppose the thinking is don't give away the good stuff...nut like, you gotta hook the fans in with bait, and choosing a song that barely even has drums is like...huh????? Git Ready would've been perfect, shyt IT'S IN THE fukkING SONG TITLE lmao. Right amount of energy and a good signal for that Gang Starr style

Premier and Nas both said this isn't about sales for them. These dudes been in the game for 30+ years. Countless classics since the early 90's. They don’t need sales. Nas is releasing this album on his own, for the day one fans. They said the goal was just to get this music to the people. That's it. And they did that.

And the actual day one fans love the album. This isn't for the fake fans or self-proclaimed "stans" online. Like Premier said, this is for the people that have been there since the start. And last I checked, all of those people are loving the sh*t out of this project. All of these other random topics like sales, are only on the minds of the weirdos. Nas and Preem ain't worried about no damn numbers.

They continually changing the rules. Now they gonna stop counting Youtube numbers. At one point they stopped counting sales from artists websites when that's how independent artists make their money.

This album they sold $150,000 worth of limited edition vinyls before it even dropped. So that's the revenue equivalent of 15,000 regular sales before day one. And they sold out multiple other versions of the vinyl, CDs and tapes already on the website. Probably already recouped on day one but the Coli armchair A&Rs waiting to pounce :mjlol:

Do you know why they stopped counting sales from artists websites?

If they did, then I can see this only doing 5K since that was the only place to get physicals that ship release week. Well, technically it was on the Mass Appeal site, so maybe his will count.

Not specifically but most the rules are designed to tilt numbers in favor of major labels and their priority artists. Main impact of this rule was to push independent artists who make their money on direct sales further down the charts.

Not sure if it's even in place anymore since they change the rules all the time.

You can't have it both ways

What Nas do an interview for awareness with Budden if he didn't care about sales
Why he do the concert on Prime
Why do the NBA stuff ?

Him and Preem just made album dedicated to hip hop and he don't care how many people hear it ? Wouldn't you want people to hear it ?

Why announce the legend series in general ? Why not just throw em out there ?

Again, yall just say anything
