Album wore off for me In the long run the executive decisions were simply poor. Premier wanted the album to be titled fukk A Title. Nuff said. Git Ready cryptocurrency hook is wack, NYSOM is not really NYSOM, Writers and Bouquet have identical concepts, Nasty Esco Nasir is just an Eminem cover, My Story Your Story sounds like an unfinished demo with AZ talking over half of the record. 3rd Childhood beat is not even a footnote to the original. Not to mention the Premier beats sound plasticky and off. I have accepted this shyt was thrown together in the Bahamas without too many second thoughts. There should have been someone there in studio to smack these 2 over their big heads.

Re listened to this over the weekend.

The production felt rushed and lazy plain and simple.

Some of the beats didn't have a decent mix. The samples weren't even chopped properly.

Overall the highs were enough to balance out the weak shyt.

Its a weird album in the sense that I dont listen to it as much as other Nas albums but when I do listen to it, it sounds pretty fire.

People talk about the beats but this is probably how the album would have sounded in 06 if they made it

Kanye and Nas made great music. Ye is incapable of saying the same. As far as I'm concerned they are two different people.

I don't think people were mad at Polo for understandably being excited. I think people are mad because it was obvious the album was made with heavy sample packs while people on this forum and twitter pretended like that wasn't the case. I am 99% sure I was the first person here to look at the credits and say wait a minute, why is Polo on here unless it's sample packs. And the packs don't even sound good, which makes it worse.

I am NOT trying to re-litigate the Hit Boy era but once again, that man got crucified for using sample packs on the Nas albums by a lot of the very same people praising the Premo album. It's an agenda at play. And I'll go to my grave arguing this shyt sounds wack sonically.

Man people talking about that Christina album from 20 years anho and he did like i think a handful of beats a double album and the one that everyone was shocked by was he turned up the bpm on a single. He’s been in one mode and it’s worked cause average Preem is still very good

I think the concept of the album as a tribute to hip hop and given Nas mentality about the old school even with hhid and the old direction on singles he was going with Salaam means it’s theme wise it’s this.
Sonically Preems been on cruise control for 20 years but nobody says much because average Preem is still good

People are only complaining about it now cause I think they thought he had some godly shyt saved for Nas
