Intro & Outro on this album are incredible btw.

Gonna let that 1st listen marinate & revisit it later today.

Speaking as a dude who picked up an MPC 60 and S950 cause of Preem, been waiting for this record since it was first announced 20 years ago, but who has not been a big fan of Preems newer stuff (the last Gang Starr especially)

I'm really fukking with this record....Premo isn't going for the all out banger every song (like when he was doing 1-2 joints per record & was trying to kill every spot), but he is producing a RECORD, more akin to the Gang Starr joints where every joint has its own vibe and feel.

The beats really give Nas room to rhyme and he's fukkin dancing all over this shyt

Define My Name would have been the best track on the album. My Life is Real, Sons and 3rd Childhood are pretty good

Nah the production on the last Gang Starr album was trash, people were lying to themselves about that one. I can be objective when it comes to Premier, and I'm actually digging this.

Album is 4 mics. But I believe the hype had us all wanting that 4 1/2 mic material.


Not gonna lie tho, I was expecting to hear DOBY from KOF get a shout out on "Writers" but that didn't happen. DOBY was all over Harlem and The Bronx in the early 90's.



I had to do a double take in the comments and noticed no one brought up how the joint with Alicia Keys and Rakim from 2003 was thought to be the original NYSOM part 3
