Nas rapping on here is amazing but the production just isnt what it should be and thats ok it is what it is.

The production is exactly "what it should be".

If you don’t like the beats, that's you. But the album is what Nas and Preem want it to be. It was made for the heads who appreciate it for what the concepts are, not for people who want him to make a "regular" album, like you said.

Premier said this one is for the "day one" fans. Clearly not for the people who want to tell them what their album "should be".

It just blows my mind how a lot of the same ppl who cried FOR YEARS about Nas going commercial, how Nas needed to make another “Illmatic” are panning this album. True mental illness.
Most of us are not the Nas should another illmatic crowd. And this albums is also far from illmatic standard production. we can tell the differences.

Gave it another spin, pains me to say… but the production really is average to ass cheeks :francis:

Nas doing everything he can to carry the production but he’s also running out of shyt to say
I actually felt the opposite. I felt like he was talking about similar stuff on hit boys albums toward the end,but this album is almost a concept album love letter to hip.hop. So many concept records.

I dont think theres a bigger "preme" and golden age rap fan on here than me, with that being said when I say not what they should be- some (not all) of the beats just arent the quality that they should be.

bro no one is a bigger nas stan than me- but its ok to be critical. Preme just didnt come with it to the level needed for a GREAT or classic album..its a really good album with A1 level nas rapping

Daim (Graffiti Artist) responds to Shout-out on Writers

Shoutout to Daim FX!

:salute:

It's been dope to see all the writers come out and speak on being mentioned in the song. I like how Daim said that "This isn't for outsiders. It's for those that know the names". That's exactly what most of us have been saying and what Premier was saying too. This sh*t is for a certain set of people. So if you're complaining, chances are, this ain't for you.

This is the type of album that will be divisive -then people look back and say wow what a genius masterpiece. These are some of the most "purist" concept records he's done.

I ran it back a few times and in the whip this am on the way to work. Solid 4 mics to me still. On the "god's son" level of nas albums.

why would i bother going song for song for you?
and I gave you a few songs and that's the maximum I'll give for this boring ass album.
Like I said, he changed his flow and got annoying.
I hope this doesn't keep you awake at night too much.

Dude made like 7 albums in 5 years...if you don't think he has a lot of bullshyt then good for you.

that don’t mean shyt if it ain’t good

Literally people that didn't like MAGIC
So who gives a Fk

I'm a bit perplexed why people that don't like the album are still in the thread.

Feel how you feel. Allow others to feel how they feel. The "let me convince you of how bad it is" act is pointless

Being a self-appointed "stan" doesn't necessarily mean that the music is being made for you though.

If you feel comfortable enough telling GOAT's what their albums "should be", you're not a day one fan, lol. Saying you don’t like something, is fine. But Nas and Premier determine what the album should be. And for us actual day one fans, we appreciate the album because they accomplished what they set out to do. Which is why so many of the OG's are speaking on why this isn't for "outsiders".

Nas has dropped plenty of projects I didn't like. But I can't tell my bro what his album "should be" and or tell Preem he "didn't come with it". Says who? Mad of us are loving this sh*t. So if you don't like it, just say you don’t like it. But don’t tell these GOAT's they didn't do their job. Because they did.
