I'm not expecting Nas to sell like Taylor Swift , but you cannot tell me more people want to hear Nas and Hitboy over Nas and Preem - I don't care how old the "sound" is.

AND

Ya'll acting like HitBoy gave nothing but 808 beats... he boomed and bapped throughout each one of those damn albums

AND

Preem does NOT have a small ass fanbase

KD1 had Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Fivio Foreign, A$AP Ferg, The Firm (with Dr. Dre), and Anderson Paak. KD2 had YG, A Boogie, Blxst,  Eminem, and Lauryn Hill.

Light-Years has AZ. Why are we acting like these albums are exactly the same?

Nas co-owns Mass Appeal. The first day edition signed vinyl was $125 alone and they sold out of 1000 copies. That's $125k off that one item! They also had others to sell out well like cassettes and cds. Now we got more special editions for preorder, so they aren't hurting financially. I'd rather sell 5k of albums costing $250, $125, $30, etc than to have bragging rights over some streaming numbers. It's simple mathematics. Nobody cares about streaming sales today but teenagers and Drake/Kendrick fans
That’s all fine and dandy but this shyt isn’t reaching people and got a lukewarm reaction at best

The long awaited Nas and Premo album doing 5000 :picard:

And no matter how much he selling them vinyls or collectors items for the fact of the matter is profit isn’t being maximized nor is the art being digested at the level that it should

Nas is a legend, a multiplatinum artist he shouldn’t be doing niche Griselda numbers

I don't understand. If he went multi platinum on this cd would the album be better ? Did you live under a rock the past 15 years ? The music industry and especially hip hop music went to a lot of phases. In the 80's early 90's the goal was to go gold, and then it was platinum, then multiplatinum, then it went back to gold again and now you be lucky to have 100k in the first week.

For an artist like nas 30 years deep in his career pulling 10k to 20k with no promo, no radio single is a lot (I don't believe in the 5k number). It don't matter the anticipation, he's way past his prime. And don't have a beehive/stan/swifties type of fan. Eminem went minimum platinum on almost every cd he released, but the discography is 70% shyt.

I don't know why people are so invested in numbers when the artist himself don't even care. I remember how 50 was all about the numbers until he got beat by Kanye. After that his musical career was done because without the numbers he became irrelevant and didn't care about rap like that, he was all about business. I'm glad I'm not supporting an artist like that. Nas is able to do both.

I don't see what the point of this was but ok.

Like there are some people that just release "whatever" just cuz they in the studio like that and may as well get it off. But that's not Nas, so why?

But maybe thats what he doin mow, cuz he has been pretty active the last years.

But OK.

I took a drive to Atlanta today and the drive was so long, I was able to play all 6 Nas/Hit-boy albums AND the Nas/Premmo album consecutively. Here's how I'd rank em:

KD 3
Magic
KD 2
Magic 3
Light Years
KD
Magic 2

You could possibly switch Magic 3 and Light Years, but the rest of it is pretty much set in stone for me.

Profit is being made, that's all you need to know. If Nas wanted to maximize profits, he would've done the same level of media that all the other legends did.

For me:

Magic
KDIII
KDII
Magic 3/Light-Years (more consistent production on M3 but better rapping on LY so tie)
Magic 2 (grew on me a lot)
KD
