For me it doesn't either.

There's the elite Nas albums, pretty much what you just named and I would add Untitled, Distant Relatives, Life is Good and Lost Tapes.

Then there's the great to good albums, which is where I would add I Am, Streets Disciple, Lost Tapes II, Magic II and Light---Years. A lot of heat but some low points as well which cannot be ignored.

Then there's the mid ones, some standout songs but some not so much. Nastradamus, The Firm Album, HipHop Is Dead & Nasir. Individually I like a lot of those songs, LIFE WE CHOSE is one of my favorite songs ever - those albums are mostly just poorly sequenced and feel like they were thrown together. Very messy and I don't enjoy listening to them as a whole.

I don't think he's ever dropped front to back wack album, not even close to it :yeshrug:

He would have easily done 60k with the right promo and features maybe even 80:manny:

Nas has always been his own biggest enemy when it comes to fully getting the most out of his commercial appeal, not popping to studio sessions with Big and Lauryn Hill on blockbuster albums because he was too high, not doing promo runs, interviews and collaborating with the right people who were popping at the time….

He just hasn’t cared for that side of things as much as some rappers, and that is something that is commendable at the same time, a true artist.

This is fine. It catches some pretty big wind in the middle with Pause Tapes and lasts for quite a bit. But this is very much a passion project/legacy act from a legacy artist, even if its my favorite artist. Not a big fan of repurposing NYSOM, but not opposed to the Billy Joel flip, felt like it could have gone to a different idea.

Its comfort food, which is better than what I can say for Magic 2 and 3.

Magic 2 was fire and magic 3 is classic its too early me to compare light years to any of those hit boy albums there too different
