It is a somber, melancholy type of track. I didn't expect this after it was described as a Mafia meets Vegas, Ocean's 11 type sound.

I cant tell from the 11 second snippet and it being talked over if its a good beat or not but I wasnt blown away by it and of course naturally people have already made their mind about it in this thread so kudos Coli engineers:lolbron:

I will say this: I said for years theres probably a reason that joint hasnt come out yet. Because the names on the track are gonna put a hell of a lot expectations on it and if its just a chill record that they probably did it on the spur like BBC (made in the same session where the picture was from) theres no point in releasing it with all the blow back.

Nas and Jay depriving us of The Scientist and Sinatra In The Sands deserves criminal charges:birdman:

my understanding of that is he never finished the verse or something. or the song. Ive heard different things about how it was meant to be a solo song then one with Hov. I heard another leak snippet with Hov's verse but from Just Blaze said the song was never finished

He did go in and re-record/finish some songs for Lost Tapes 2 so that could happen

I’m aware of the story behind the song but the fact that it was never finished is a criminal offense

Yeah beat sounds like it was made by sticks hitting some dust bins....

I can't fukk with Timbaland production like most in here...

Timbaland has been hit/miss depending on who his co-producer is. Some of his best work came during that period Danja was riding shotgun. Since he branched off on his own, nothing has been the same.

If I recall correctly from what Just said, it was the night of his surprise birthday party and he was sort of ushered away from the studio.

I think he was distracted a lot during that album's process even though sure I liked it like most of his stuff lol

that's interesting, cause this is exactly what I was expecting. Except I was expecting an instrumental somewhere between "Cherry Wine" and "Stay", w/ Timberlake repeating the vibe he put on "Heaven" from Magna Carta

Something along "Cherry Wine" was what I was expecting except with Timbaland producing, something like "Cherry Wine" meets "Suit & Tie" with JT doing what he did on "Heaven".

What do you mean depending on his co-producer? Timbaland's best work was when he was solo before he even discovered Danja. Even after Danja, Timbaland has done some great songs. Ya'll overrate Danja on the board and nobody even knew who dude was before Timbaland specifically before Futuresex/Lovesounds. Ya'll make it like Timbaland was the co-pilot and Danja was the mastermind when Danja is on record saying a lot of those songs were Timbaland's brain child and Tim brought him in to add his touch. Timbaland had a decade of classic material before any of you heard of Danja in 2006.

This doesn't make any sense. Any song that one high profile artist does with other high profile artists is subject to "blow back". It didn't stop "Black Republicans", "Success" or "BBC" from dropping. It didn't stop "Cherry Wine" or "If I Ruled The World" from dropping.

Agreed but most of those other than BBC are kinda good and I just think from that snippet it seems like it might been underwhelming. Plus its Nas and he does overthink sometimes what he puts out or doesnt.
