What boggles the mind is that Jay has been so trash for a while now, yet his fans think they're slick enough to just let that go unnoticed. Dude is so trash and has always benefited from manipulating his fans into thinking he's extra nice on the mic. His lyrics are basic, lame and one dimensional. There is no depth to his music. It is pretty fukked up that he hasn't won a Grammy. Even though Drake's "Take Care" was pretty much a perfect album for the Grammy committee, I was really hoping that Life Is Good would have gotten him that Grammy, on a "Yeah, you're coming on two decades in the game, and you're still REALLY competing " tip

I hope he wins one, because that's basically the only thing he hasn't gotten yet, and he deserves one with all that he's contributed over the years, and for how long he's released quality records.

But as someone else said, he made Illmatic. His place in history is solidified regardless.
