Grammys dont matter when it comes to rap artists...come on seriously, when was the last time they got album of the year right?...It's a popularity contest and you can use it all you want to push your agenda or try to back up whatever wack opinion you have, because quality of music and artistic integrity damn sure isnt it..

:whoa:

Jay hasn't been trash. He has versatility, wit, great production, and an overall ability to navigate records, over Nas. I wasn't feeling Blueprint 3 very much, but American Gangster was :win: from top to bottom, and he actually performed really well on Watch The Throne, showcasing different sides of himself topically and introspectively. And even Blueprint 3 had some heaters.

I think Nas being the "superior talent" is debatable, but what's just as debatable is Jay-Z having the superior catalog, because in my opinion, he seems much more efficient at putting everything together than Nas is :manny:.

Nas is incredible, too. I think he's the more candid storyteller and scene-setter between them, and even though I think his flow is better than Jay-Z's, I don't think Jay's flow is garbage. But just about everyone - himself included - acknowledges that his production isn't as consistently good as it should be, and that he's had many of his share of faulty attempts at making the types of songs that he isn't good at making.

A lot of people get so caught up in what they feel Jay-Z represents - commercialism - that they let it blind them from how dope he really is. By contrast, a lot of people get so caught up in what they feel Nas *does* represent - "real hip-hop" - that they overlook his faults.

What I don't get is why people always feel like they have to choose between the two of them. Jay-Z and Nas are both Top 5 emcees, IMO. The beef was years ago, and it doesn't have to dictate one being good and one being bad.

one of the realest posts i ever read on the coli :myman:

My Pops Forever RIP
Its just sad that nikkas are clowning on one of the GOATs for not winning an arbitary award that's not an authority on hip-hop, but let old cacs define your tatse on rap brehs :manny:

What award IS an authority on hip-hop, and has he even won that?

Nevermind the Grammys he hasn't won. Nas has one ONE or TWO awards in his life. IN HIS LIFE. Hip-Hop can't even put more than 1 award on his empty ass mantle, but we wanna get bitter about the Grammy?

:smh: @ Nas' mantle having a 2012 BET "Hip-Hop" Impact award and another box of condoms Destiny left

In this manila envelope, the results of my insanity
quack said I crossed the line between real life and fantasy
can it be the same one on covers with Warren Buffett
was duckin' the undercovers, was warring with mothafukkers
went from warring to Warren, undercovers to covers
if you believe in that sort of luck, your screws need adjusting
in the, world of no justice and black ladies on the back of buses
I'm the immaculate conception of rappers slash hustlers
my God, it's so hard to conceive
but it all falls perfect, I'm like autumn is to trees
uh, the doc interrupted
he scribbled a prescription for some Prozac
he said take that for your mustard
boy you must be off your rocker if you think you'll make it off the strip before they Pac ya,
nikka you gotta be psychotic or, mixing something potent with your vodka,
it takes a lot to shock us but you being so prosperous is preposterous
how could this nappy headed boy from out the projects
be the apple of America's obsession?
you totally disconnected with reality, don't believe in dreams
since when did black men become kings?

You think this is trash?

damn, thank you jay elec the gawd :blessed:

the grammys are for the fans.they build anticipation with commercials, tellin you who's in the building,a huge crazy stage with over the top performances and these little trophies they give to the winning artist(in which they have to pay for if they want to keep them)it's all entertainment.but i guess if you're nominated you wanna win right?some artist do some don't give a fuk.some of the greatest artist ever have no grammys some only have 1 or 2 and some like i said dont give a fuk.james brown only has 3,atcq has none, rick james none, led zeppelin none and the list goes on. so jay z with or without 17 grammys is still an artist who's impacted the game just like any other artist with 1 or no grammys.nas=huge impact wutang=huge impact, fat joe like it or not has had an impact 3-6 mafia=huge impact, geto boys =huge impact and the list goes on.but back to my original point grammys are for the fans.so you and your boys can argue who's better because this person has this many grammys or that many grammys.while the artist sit back and count there money.

keep on being a fan,peace!
