Nas never even said Lupe is the second coming. He said he is the rapper that most reminds him of himself.
This could be taken a few ways, Nore was talking about people biting Nas just before and Nas said Lupe.

I like a couple songs on The Cool, and T&Y is good. Everything else isn't for me.
He didn’t say Lupe was the 2nd coming either, those were Nore’s words. He asked what rapper he felt sounded more like him/was biting him (Nore kind of fused both into the same question so hard to know what the response was to). And Nas said Lupe, I’d image Nas respects Lupe, especially considering they doing a tour together apparently. He seemed reluctant to criticise Lupe over the Tribe shyt.
Also there’s no 2nd coming of Nas, there never has and there never will be, he’s a 1 off. It’s the same with Rakim, people said the same shyt but only 1 Rakim. If you’re great you got to carve out your own lane and name not being the 2nd anybody’s else, that’s almost a curse before you start, if you’re great you overcome that and become respected in your own right standing alone.
