:russ::russ: Son have u heard of KING/Trouble Man/Dime Trap/Paper Trail .. A lot of people argue that King and Paper Trail are classics .. U might not like those albums, but to sit here and act like the consensus is TI hasn’t had a good album since 04 is wild

King was overrated. Trouble Man had a few good songs Suga Cane was fire, Paper Trail was trash. He hasn't had a good album but he's been successful

I like Lupe, he’s obviously better than Cole n them. I wouldn’t put Lupe over Wayne/TIP/Kendrick in an all time list though
s
Wayne has as many bad albums as people say Lu has.(even more prolly)
T.I I'm a fan of but he almost does as well. One thing I give him is, his bad ones aren't as bad as Lasers

And Kendrick's stuff been lukewarm after GKMC.:yeshrug:

And as a rapper regarding skills Lu >>>> all of them : lyrically, flow, storytelling etc

I will say T.i might have a better voice. But his voice can get annoying. And Wayne might have the better delivery but that's it.

Impact is what I see, as what can hold them higher than him(tho with Kendrick we have to wait and see). Thou lu has impact to.

Kendrick Lamar stan #3 in the building yall
I'm called a Kendrick Stan On Here by the brehs because I give breh his props which are due.
However I'm listening to Freddie Gibbs, Benny The Butcher, Sean Price etc. more than either
Kendrick or Lupe right now and it's been that way for a minute.

:yeshrug:
I'll let y'all get back to it though.

At the end of the day, alot of nikkas on thecoli are legit remedial and unfortunately it cant be helped :yeshrug:

You may not like his music but when it comes to lyricism, Lupe is one of the best.

Meh that’s very debatable especially with Kendrick... Lupe doesn’t touch neither the influence of Wayne or TIP

Lupe's influence is very understated. Along with Kanye he helped usher in certain Streetware Fashion, Japanese Culture, Anime and general nerdiness that we see celebrated by today's rappers. A lot of brands ASAP MOB rep Lu was first.

Ab Soul, Isaiah Rashad, Wale, Cole, Fashawn, ASAP MOB, Cousin Stizz, Casey Veggies, Denzel Curry, Domo Genesis, Chance the Rapper, it's a long list that have said publicly Lupe is 1. The reason they started rapping 2. A huge influence if not the number 1 reason.

Cole said the rap game changed when Lupe got signed and that's when things started to turn around.

Wale said Lupe Fiasco started all of this shyt for us to get a chance and for Complex to really fukk with nikkas like us."
"For real.’ That Revenge of The Nerds mixtape? fukking crazy. And it was the start man."

His influence doesnt get talked about enough honestly

That new Westside Gunn is crazy :whew:

Benny probably got song of the year though :ooh:

And if it ain’t that one it’s this one :ohlawd:

Lost Tapes 2 and Bandana sounding like 4.5 mic albums. :ahh:

Year started off reallllllllly slow, but then we got like 50 dope albums in a few weeks. :damn:

Oh shyt. Mach Hommy. He gets props too :banderas:

Thing about Lupe is that he often raps over weak or unfit beats for some reason, so even if his lyrics are amazing the final product will generally be underwhelming since it's hard to give repeated listens to a song with subpar production. T&Y production sounds over-polished to me, with too much shyt going on, and for someone who's mostly all about bars he really should stick with simpler loops (think what Joey Bada$$ raps over generally --- Big Dusty, Christ Conscious, Paper Trails, etc. would've been amazing to hear him on some of that or similar shyt).

but some of his best bars come from the track Real Recognize Real, but the beat is super underwhelming

They say the game has the belly of a beast
Blunts for fingers and hollow tips for teeth
Wire taps for ears, Nike Airs for feet
Blasphemy for prayers, a system for a heart
Rap music for beats, heroin for a son and it's married to the streets
Crack pipes for lungs, and he never sleeps
Just spies, wit dice in his eyes
Loves life cuz he likes when it dies
Wit a baking soda soul, he cough up pleasure
Clothes made out of dollar bills that he sewed together
:damn:

with that said I really fukks with this track which has both LYRICS AND THE PRODUCTION on point, if he had more tracks like this one he'd be untouchable.

Facts!!!

People must've forgot or were just unaware how hot Lupe was around 06-07.

Which, along with kanye's graduation completely changed the landscape of hiphop after 07
